EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — A Monroe Township man was arrested last week after he tried to steal more than $6,000 worth of electronics from the East Brunswick Walmart on Rt. 18, police say. The man also admitted he shoplifted from that Walmart over an approximate one-month period this fall, police said.
Last Tuesday, Nov. 12 East Brunswick police were called to the Walmart to assist with a possible shoplifter inside the store.
Officers located the man in the rear of the store pushing a shopping cart filled with more than $6,000 in electronic range finders, computers and other electronics. When he noticed the cops, police said he abandoned the shopping cart and attempted to walk away. He was detained and identified as Paul Clawges, 29 of Monroe Township.
