NB Fire Marshal Who Stole Gets 6 Months in Jail
Craig Snediker, North Brunswick's former fire marshal, was sentenced to six months in prison and six months house arrest for stealing $89K.

North Brunswick, NJ - North Brunswick’s former fire marshal — who admitted in September he stole $89,000 from the township’s volunteer fire department — was sentenced to six months in prison Wednesday, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Craig Snediker, 40, will serve a split sentence: Six months in prison and six months home confinement at his house in Monroe Township, a spokesman for the AG’s office told Patch. He will then be on supervised release for the next three years.
Snediker was treasurer of the North Brunswick Volunteer Fire Department No. 3 when he embezzled the funds. He admitted in federal court on Sept. 2 of this year to taking the money between March of 2014 through May of 2015, and using it for his own personal expenses. North Brunswick Mayor Francis “Mac” Womack asked for his resignation the day after his guilty plea, and Snediker resigned Sept. 3.
