Perry Retires, Tamar Lawful Appointed East Brunswick Clerk
Nannette Perry retired after 39 years of service to the Township. Tamar Lawful replaces her as the new Clerk.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — Longtime East Brunswick Clerk, Nannette Perry, recently retired after 39 years of service to the Township. She spent 15 of those years as the Township Clerk.
Tamar Lawful replaces Perry as the new Clerk. During the last Council meeting on March 28, Perry was honored for her service to the Township.
Assemblyman Sterley Stanley and Middlesex County Clerk Nancy Pinkin presented a commemorative plaque to Perry.

“I want to personally thank you for the time and effort you put into helping me develop into my role. Especially during the two years when I was Council President, you were very instrumental in helping me,” Stanley said.
Pinkin said Perry has always been a "steady hand" in helping her. "You've been through many different mayors, many council people, a pandemic, a Presidential election, two hurricanes - you've really seen and done it all," Pinkin said.

Very few residents know how much goes into the role of clerk, and how much you've done. I don't even remember you ever being absent."
"You are a wealth of knowledge and you know the codebook back and forth and you run a very great department," said Council President James Wendell.
Perry thanked Mayor and Council saying "it's been a wonderful adventure".
Lawful's new term as clerk began on April 1. A graduate of Drew University, Lawful previously served at Chatham and South River. She is a New Jersey registered Municipal Clerk and a certified Municipal Registrar.
