Police Seek Driver Involved In Fatal Hit-&-Run In East Brunswick

A 78-year-old man was killed when a tractor-trailer struck a box truck on the turnpike in East Brunswick, NJ State Police said.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — A 78-year-old New York man was killed when a tractor-trailer struck his box truck in East Brunswick, New Jersey State Police said.

On Wednesday around 10:45 p.m., a White ISUZU box truck 25 feet long was parked northbound on the shoulder of the truck lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike in East Brunswick, NJSP said.

An unknown tractor-trailer struck the box truck and then fled the scene, in the area of milepost 78.8, authorities said.

Giuseppe Zuccarello, 78, of Whitestone, NY, was struck while outside of the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or the events before or following the crash is asked to contact the Troop "D" Criminal Investigations Office at 732-441-4500 ext. 4424. Anonymous tips are welcome.
