Person Killed On Train Tracks Near Metropark

BREAKING: Service was suspended Tuesday morning after a person was struck by a train.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A person was killed on the train tracks near Metropark on Tuesday, New Jersey Transit said.

Northeast Corridor train 3838 struck a person on the tracks west of Metropark around 11:30 a.m. on its way into New York City, a New Jersey Transit spokesperson said. The person's name and gender are not being released yet. No one on board the train was injured.

Service was briefly suspended between Metropark and Rahway, and delays continued for several hours after that. Service is back to normal heading into the evening commute.
