Man Driving Without License Hits, Kills New Brunswick Man: Police

A man driving without a driver's license hit a 70-year-old pedestrian Friday night in New Brunswick, killing the older man, say police.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — A North Brunswick man who was driving without a driver's license hit a 70-year-old pedestrian Friday night in New Brunswick, killing the older man, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor.

Juan Gonzalez, 43, of North Brunswick was charged with driving without a license and causing the death of another person in the third degree.

The 70-year-old New Brunswick man who was killed has been identified as Teddy Davis, 70, who lived in New Brunswick.

Police say that at approximately 9:04 p.m. Friday, June 19, Gonzalez was driving a 2009 Dodge Avenger on Rt. 27 near Van Dyke Avenue when he struck Davis, killing him.

Davis was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Friday night, where he was pronounced dead.
