Sayreville Man Gets 8 Years In Prison For Fatal 2020 Crash

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — A Sayreville man was sentenced to eight years in prison for a fatal 2020 motorcycle crash that resulted in the death of a South Amboy resident, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Acting Chief Joseph Mandola of the Old Bridge Police Department said.
Jack Piatek, 29, of Sayreville was sentenced to eight years in state prison on one count of second-degree vehicular homicide, by Judge Pedro J. Jimenez, Jr, for the 2020 fatal crash that killed Jessica Vinsko after she was ejected from the motorcycle.
Piatek must serve 85 percent of his sentence before he is eligible for parole. Upon his release, Piatek will be subject to a 15-year loss of license, Ciccone said.

On July 16, 2020, at approximately 11:50 p.m., Piatek was operating a motorcycle under the influence of alcohol on Route 35 North, Ciccone said. According to an investigation, he lost control of the motorcycle, ejecting both him and Vinsko, 36, of the motorcycle.
Vinsko was pronounced dead at the scene. Piatek was charged with multiple offenses and later pleaded guilty to second-degree Vehicular Homicide and Driving While Intoxicated, Ciccone said.
