UPDATE: Man Wanted In East Brunswick Shooting Apprehended: PD

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — A South Brunswick man was charged with attempted murder in connection with a shooting that took place on Tuesday, East Brunswick police said.

Kyle Johnson, 36, of Monmouth Junction was charged with first-degree attempted murder and aggravated assault. A search was on for Johnson who police considered "armed and dangerous.”

On Thursday, Johnson has been taken into custody without incident in Absecon, NJ, by the Absecon Police Department.

"The East Brunswick Police Department would like to thank the Absecon Police Department and the US Marshals Service for their assistance," East Brunswick police said.

On Tuesday, around 4:59 p.m., East Brunswick Police responded to a report of a possible shooting in the area of Taylor Avenue. Arriving officers found the victim, who was not injured as a result of the shooting, police said. Johnson fled the scene in a blueish-green Dodge Magnum bearing NJ registration F18KCK, according to police.

Authorities said the shooting was unprovoked and random.

Anyone who knows Johnson’s whereabouts should immediately call 911 and not attempt to approach him, police said.
