Smoothie King Drive-Thru Proposed For Rt 18 East Brunswick
The drive-thru window will be located in an already existing building at 285 Route 18.
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — East Brunswick’s Route 18 corridor seems to be emerging as a sought-after destination for businesses.
A new Smoothie King Drive-Thru is being proposed for the Township, according to the Planning Board agenda. The drive-thru window will be located in an already existing building, Cross Pointe Plaza, which is at 285 Route 18, Block 26.
A juice bar that serves freshly blended smoothies, has over 50 locations in New Jersey including North Brunswick, New Brunswick, and Edison. Their goal is to help people reach their health and diet goals by serving “high-quality, great-tasting" smoothies, according to their website.

This is the second new business to be proposed for the Route 18 corridor. On Monday Patch reported that German discount retail chain Lidl has proposed a store at 651 Route 18. The property was formerly occupied by Unclaimed Freight.

Lidl is seeking preliminary and final site plan approval to demolish the existing building and construct a new 31,042 square foot grocery store.
The Planning Board is expected to discuss the application on Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m.
