EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — A man has been charged in connection with an armed robbery that took place at a Main Street computer repair shop in South River last month, according to South River police.
Another suspect is still at large, Chief Mark Tinitigan said.
Fernando Ramosgarcia, 30, of South River, was taken into custody during an early morning search warrant execution Thursday at a Burton Avenue home. He faces charges including first-degree robbery, third-degree aggravated assault, and weapons offenses.

On Jan. 2, around 6:46 p.m., two masked men entered ML Computer Repair at 34 Main Street. One man wielded what appeared to be a handgun while the other carried pepper spray, Tinitigan said. The pair threatened an employee, sprayed him in the face, and fled with cash and personal items, according to Tinitigan.
Reviewing extensive surveillance footage, police tracked the suspects' movements before and after the robbery. They found evidence that led to the search warrant.

Police then executed the warrant with support from the Middlesex County Special Operations Response Team. Investigators also coordinated with Sayreville police, who are probing a similar robbery in their jurisdiction.
Tinitigan praised the investigative work and interagency cooperation. “Our Detective Bureau conducted a thorough investigation from the outset, and their attention to detail was instrumental in this operation,” he said. “This type of teamwork is critical to keeping our community safe.”
The other suspect remains unidentified. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Nale at 732-254-9002 ext. 123.
