VIDEO: East Brunswick Police Rescue Kayaker From Dallenbach Lake​

The Police Department released a video of the rescue after the kayaker was trapped.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ – An officer from East Brunswick Police Department rescued a man from a lake after his kayak had overturned.

The incident had happened on Saturday and the Police Department released video of the rescue on Monday.

On Saturday, East Brunswick Police received a 911 call reporting that a man was calling for help while holding on to an overturned kayak in Dallenbach Lake.

Patrolmen Jeff Dougherty, Mike Methner and other officers arrived at the scene. Dougherty swam out to rescue the kayaker, while Methner assisted by ensuring everyone got ashore safely, police said.

According to police, the kayaker got caught in a fishing line, which resulted in the kayak overturning and he couldn’t get to safety.
