EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — The holidays are officially here. While the holiday tree and menorah lighting ceremony in East Brunswick happened a few weeks ago, the township has a lot to offer this season.

This December, look at lights, enjoy a concert, shop at holiday markets, and more.

Winter WonderLights Holiday Light Show Drive-Thru: Bundle up in your car and drive-thru over 1.5 million lights animated to some of your favorite holiday tunes. There are 12 20’ trees, the 200’ tunnel of lights, a tribute to first responders, and other stunning, larger-than-life holiday-themed displays for the entire family – all synchronized to music. Located at 655 Cranbury Road, this is one of New Jersey's largest holiday lights display. Ongoing through Jan. 2, 2022. Park is a 1/2 mile long drive and is open 7 days a week. Winter Pet Costume Contest: East Brunswick is organizing a winter pet costume contest this year. All you have to do is take a picture of your pet in their most winter holiday attire. Send the picture to the recreation department along with information on your pet. All submissions need to be sent by Dec. 11 to recreation@eastbrunswick.org. Voting will take place online between Dec. 10 and 17.

Gingerbread House Contest: The East Brunswick Education Association and East Brunswick Arts Commission is hosting a Gingerbread house contest. The pictures need to be emailed to recreation@eastbrunswick.org by Dec. 12 for inclusion in this year's contest. Voting will take place from Dec. 14- 21, the house with the most votes wins the contest.

A Christmas Carol: On December 10 at 8 pm enjoy a performance of the classic Christmas tale of a miserable miser who learns to keep Christmas in his heart with the help of several ghostly visitations. All Tickets are $15. Tickets must be purchased online at Playhouse22.org or over the phone at 732-254-3939. Presented by The Arts Institute of Middlesex County.

Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides, New Brunswick City Center: Middlesex County is continuing with a New Brunswick holiday classic. City Center will host family carriage rides in the winter evenings. $20 per carriage family. Dates are Dec, 17, The Heldrich from 5 p.m. -8 p.m.; Dec. 18, The Heldrich from 4 p.m. -7 p.m.; and Dec. 19, The Heldrich, from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m.
