2016 Gene Michael Celebrity Golf Classic Supports The Blind and Disabled

The Foundation for the Blind and Disabled will hold the fundraiser at Brookline Country Club Monday, Aug. 22.

The Foundation for the Blind and Disabled will hold the 2016 Gene Michael Celebrity Golf Classic at Brookline Country Club Monday, Aug. 22.

The Foundation for the Blind and Disabled is a non-profit organization started by Emmy winning, blind broadcaster Ed Lucas.

Each golfer should check in at 9 a.m. for the 10:30 a.m. shotgun tee-off. Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. After a day on the course, a cocktail party will kick off the evening at 5 p.m., followed by the awards dinner at 6:30 p.m.

More than 40 celebrities from sports and entertainment will be there to support the cause. There will also be speeches made by actors Danny Aiello and Tony Lo Bianco and a musical tribute to Frank Sinatra, according to NewJerseyHills.com.

The Foundation for the Blind and Disabled provides funding for scholarships for disabled students, sponsors the care and raising of guide dogs, and funds vital research into the cure for diabetes and other supported vital research into the cure for diabetes and other diseases that affect millions of Americans every year.

“I invite you to join us on Monday, Aug. 22 as we golf, laugh, party and have fun, all in the spirit of raising funds to help the blind and disabled,” Yankees’ Gene Michael said, who’s one of The Foundation for the Blind and Disabled’s biggest supporters.
