3 People Accused Of Forgery In Florham Park

Police arrested one inside the bank, and two in the parking lot for trying to pass a forged check.

FLORHAM PARK, NJ — Three people are accused of trying to cash a forged check at a Florham Park bank, police said.

Employees at HSBC Bank reported the fraudulent check to police on Aug. 8 as a man was attempting to cash it. Officers arrested the man, Dajon Flowers, 26, from Jersey City, at the scene.

Other officers responded to a suspicious car across the street from the bank, and both passengers appeared fixated on the bank, police said. The car left the lot and began to drive around the bank when it was stopped by police.

The two people inside the car, Timothy Daniels, 26, from Brooklyn N.Y., and Tynika Johnson, 25, from New York, N.Y., offered police different reasons for being in the area, and the car smelled of marijuana, police said.

Police allegedly found marijuana and an envelope with Dajon Flowers's name in it. Johnson and Daniels then admitted to their role in the fraud, police said. They were also arrested.

Flowers was charged with conspiracy to utter a forged document. Daniels was charged with conspiracy to utter a forged document and possession of marijuana. Johnson was charged with conspiracy to utter a forged document, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a car, improper display of license plates and failure to produce documents.

All three were released with upcoming Superior Court dates.
