Affinity Federal Credit Union Volunteers at Local Food Bank

Basking Ridge, NJ (September 8, 2014) - On Thursday, August 28th, executives and employees from Affinity Federal Credit Union lent a helping hand at the Community FoodBank of New Jersey, located in Hillside.

The Community FoodBank distributes food, help and hope to more than 1 million hungry people annually in New Jersey. The volunteers, who included members of the Affinity Human Resources Team, the Affinity Learning Institute, and the Affinity Foundation, helped sort food and repack pasta throughout the day. Many of the local organizations that the Affinity Foundation supports receive supplies from the local facility, so working with the Food Bank directly was a great fit.

Affinity Federal Credit Union continues to strive to be set apart from other institutions. The Affinity Foundation chose to use this opportunity as their “team building event,” instead of going bowling or attending a baseball game so they can feel good about the time they spend outside of the office.

Faye Kuhn, Director of Volunteer Services of the Community FoodBank of New Jersey, stated, “We were delighted to have the Affinity volunteers with us for the day. The volunteers were very energetic and accomplished a great deal. We look forward to having them return next year for another great teambuilding event!”
