Baseball, the True American Experience

A stadium baseball game with your favorite local team on a perfect summer evening is as American an experience you can get. And Frank McKinley, president of Frankly Financial in East Hanover, NJ, is a true American baseball fan. So much so that for the 5th year in a row, he has invited colleagues, clients, associates and friends to celebrate this rite of summer at the Yogi Berra Stadium on the Montclair State University campus where the New Jersey Jackals challenge their opponents regularly. “It is a great opportunity for mixing business with pleasure, current with future clients, hot dogs with hamburgers,” states McKinley when asked about this yearly tradition he has created. “When capped off by terrific fireworks, you’re so close you can feel the blast on your face!”

McKinley’s guests are from as close as Montclair and Cedar Grove and as far away as Italy and the Basque region of Spain. Frankly Financial client and West Orange business owner John Mitrano of Techdesigno attends the game every year. Along with his own family, he brings the international students he hosts as part of a cultural exchange program during the summer. Mitrano believes the students “can’t return to Europe without seeing an American baseball game or trying a stadium hot dog. I would not be doing my job of sharing our culture!”
