Car Stolen In Florham Park Used In Newark Armed Robberies: Police

The key was left in the ignition when the car was stolen.

FLORHAM PARK, NJ— A car stolen in Florham Park was used in armed robberies in Newark, Florham Park Police said.

A gray Lexus was stolen from a Village Road Lexus the night of Feb. 8, police said. The car was unlocked and the fob was in the ignition at the time.

On Feb. 13, the Lexus was used in "several" armed robberies in Newark, before being found unoccupied.

Florham Park and the surrounding areas have seen an increase in car burglaries and thefts recently.

Police ask residents to always remove keys, key fobs, and all valuables from cars when parking them.
