Disposing Fetus Gets East Hanover Couple Probation

An East Hanover couple accused of disposing their child's fetus into a garbage can was entered Tuesday into the state's Pretrial Intervention program.
Erin Dougherty, 25, and her 31-year-old boyfriend were accepted into the probation program after each were .
They each were granted one-year PTI and received 25 hours of community service, according to the Daily Record. They were each fined $125, including a $50 victim compensation fund assessment, the Daily Record reported.

Medical records also indicated that Doughtery sought an abortion, but was denied by an Englewood clinic because a doctor there believed the fetus appeared to be 26 or 27 weeks old at the time, according to NJ.com.
