Annual Employment Horizons Bowl-A-Thon to Have Halloween Theme

The annual Employment Horizons Bowl-A-Thon fundraiser will feature a Halloween theme complete with costumed bowlers and prizes. Sponsored by the New Jersey office of Avison Young, the Bowl-A-Thon will feature an afternoon of bowling, lunch, snacks and camaraderie to support the Cedar Knolls based nonprofit agency that provides job training and placement services to individuals with disabilities.Additional sponsors include Mustang Contracting Corporation, M.P. Plumbing, Lakeside Carpentry, Commercial Furniture Interiors, VFW Watnong Post #3401, Bayonne Glass, the Kiwanis Club of Randolph, R&R Marketing and Adams Addressing Associates. Volunteers from Avison Young and Tiffany & Co. will be on hand to assist with the day’s events. The Bowl-A-Thon will be held on Sunday, October 27 from 12-3pm at Hanover Lanes in East Hanover.
The annual event is one of the most anticipated of the year for the organization’s program participants, who are already planning their costumes in anticipation of the event. “Look out for Wolverine,” said Stephen Somich.
“We are hoping for a great turn out for a great event,” said Tiffany & Co. volunteer Andrew Trewick. “Although the last two years on the date of the Bowl-a-thon, the weather outside was dreadful, warmth generated inside the bowling alley was amazing, complete with smiling faces and laughter and memories during the recognition and acknowledgement of the costumes. Also evident was the camaraderie, along with a little bit of bowling passion and competitiveness sprinkled in. It’s always a grand time, and I am honored to be a part of it.”
Anyone can join in the fun while supporting the agency’s mission, by purchasing tickets online for $20 each or becoming a lane, lunch or costume sponsor. Checks may also be mailed to Employment Horizons, 10 Ridgedale Ave., Cedar Knolls, NJ 07927. Those unable to bowl can show their support by joining the Bowl-A-Thon luncheon for $5.00 or by making a Bowl-A-Thon donation.
