The Montessori Children’s Academy (MCA) is proud to welcome Dr. Steven Hughes, a pediatric neuropsychologist and world renowned speaker, as he presents his talk “Building Better Brains to Attain Their Highest Potential” on May 18th at the Short Hills Campus.
In addition to his private practice, Dr. Hughes also serves as Chair of the Association Montessori Internationale Global Research Committee and is a leading authority and consultant for Montessori educational organizations worldwide. He was one of the first providers of Minnesota’s Cogmed Working Memory Training, served as President of the American Academy of Pediatric Neuropsychology, and is the former Director for The Center for Research on Developmental Education for the TOVA Company. The way we parent, as well as the way we organize “school,” can have a profound impact on cognitive developmental outcomes. Dr. Hughes himself is also a former Montessori parent.
