Parsippany Police Rescue Chihuahua Dog Who Was Stuck By Car

While on Old Chester Road, Patrol Officer Ross Cooper observed an unidentified blue four door vehicle strike the dog in the roadway.

Parsippany Police helped rescue a chihuahua dog who broke his hip after he was struck by a car.

According to police:

While on Old Chester Road, Patrol Officer Ross Cooper observed an unidentified blue four door vehicle strike a dog in the roadway and continue traveling West on Vail Road.

Officer Cooper immediately rendered aid to the dog, and with assistance from District Four Firefighter Christopher Cleary, the dog was transported to the Parsippany Troy Hills Animal Hospital on North Beverwyck Road.

The dog, a male chihuahua, was treated and stabilized for a broken hip and head trauma. Parsippany Animal Control Officer Heidi Mooney also arrived at the hospital to follow up with the dog’s status.

At the time of the incident, no vehicle identifiers could be obtained from the suspect vehicle and no owner can be identified for the dog.
