Three Charged With Breaking Into Cars In Florham Park

Two of them were also charged with assaulting police officers, police said.

FLORHAM PARK, NJ — Three people were arrested in connection with multiple cars burgularies in Florham Park earlier this month, police said. Two of them were also charged with assaulting police officers.

Derrick E. Brodders 2nd, 18 from Florham Park, Stefania Salerno, 22, from East Hanover, and Nahsir Robinson, 18, from Florham Park were arrested on Oct. 12 in connection to six different car burglaries, police said.

Around 2:35 a.m., police responded to Sterling Drive for a report of a man and woman looking into parked cars. Brodders and Salerno told police they lost their friend and were looking into cars to find him. Police said there was no evidence of wrongdoing at that point.

That afternoon, police went back to Sterling Drive after a resident reported a car burglary in progress. Police say based on the call, they determined Brodders, Salerno and Robinson were all involved.

Police found the three at Sun Valley Complex, and while questioning them, Brodders and Salerno allegedly assaulted the officers. Robinson fled during the assault, police said, but later returned voluntarily. Police would not provide further details on the assault.

Robinson was charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest by eluding, and receiving stolen property. Salerno was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, receiving stolen property, obstruction of justice, and conspiracy to commit burglary and theft. Both were taken to Morris County Correctional Facility awaiting a bail hearing.

Brodders was charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracy to commit theft. He was released with an upcoming court date.
