Whippany Park November Students of the Month Announced
Each month Whippany Park High School recognizes two seniors for their contributions to academic and extracurricular life.
Congratulations to Preston Lai and Liz Werther!
Preston Lai is an involved member of both academic and extracurricular life here at Whippany Park. He is a member of the Asian Awareness Club, a two-year Vice President of Interact, a four-year member of Seek, and has participated in Etcetera. He was also featured in last year’s musical and can be seen later this month in the fall play. This busy senior somehow balances his after-school commitments with a rigorous honors and AP course load and is known by his teachers as diligent, responsible, and respectful. He has also earned a consistent position on the Distinguished Honor Roll and acceptance into the National Honor Society. According to one faculty member, this talented and industrious senior is “a deep thinker who is kind, creative, and highly intelligent.
Our second student, Liz Werther, is a visible, vocal, and integral part of student life here at Whippany Park. Liz is known for her positive attitude, radiant smile, and undeniable Wildcat spirit. She is a four-year member of both the soccer and lacrosse teams, and four-year participant in FBLA, Peer Buddies, and SEEK. She is also Vice President of the Student Government Association. This enthusiastic and determined senior carries a rigorous honors and AP course load with ease, while also maintaining membership in the National Honor Society. She is respected by teachers and peers alike, and has been called “energetic” and “multifaceted.” As one faculty member puts it, “Liz can always be counted on to foster interesting and productive class discussion; but, beyond the classroom, she is a fantastic, down-to-earth person who truly makes a difference here at Whippany Park.”
