Whippany Park October Students of the Month Announced

Congratulations to Chris Ulichny and Lynn Tecza!

Chris Ulichny is a visible member of the Whippany Park community. He has been described as “intelligent, hardworking, outgoing, and personable.” This three-sport senior is a member of the basketball team, spring track, and cross country, where he currently serves as captain. One of his coaches comments that our nominee “displays tremendous leadership skills. He helps to motivate his teammates and takes the underclassmen under his wing.” In addition to his participation in Whippany Park athletics, this energetic senior balances a rigorous honors and AP course load while maintaining membership in the National Honor Society. Chris also volunteers his time mentoring younger students as a member of Heroes and Cool Kids. This spirited senior takes his commitments very seriously and always strives to positively represent Whippany Park, both in and out of school. As one faculty member puts it, this exemplary senior “takes several advanced level classes and performs very well academically. He is a role model, a problem solver, and an asset to Whippany Park.”

Our second student, Lynn Tecza, has been called “highly dependable, intelligent, and charismatic.” This multi-talented senior plays soccer, has participated in spring track, and worked on the yearbook staff. She has also performed in the spring musical, been a member of jazz ensemble, and a four-year member of the marching band, currently serving as drum major. In addition to her many extracurricular activities, this academically minded senior carries a challenging honors and AP course load and is a member of the National Honors Society. As one of her teachers puts it, our diligent and industrious nominee “can invariably be counted on as a leader amongst her peers. Her diligence is reflected in the grades she has obtained, but even more so in the respect she has earned.” In addition to her academic achievements, Lynn has also been a consistent volunteer at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum, Morristown Food Pantry, and the Good Grief organization in Morristown. As one faculty member states, she “is a remarkable young woman and an excellent role model to her peers. Her unwavering dedication, positive attitude, and love for reaching out to those in need make her a positive role model at Whippany Park.”
