365 Pounds Of Trash Collected During Lake Cleanup In East Windsor

Over 67 volunteers participated in the cleanup at Etra Lake held to celebrate Earth Day.

EAST WINDSOR, NJ —Recently, the township along The Watershed Institute co-sponsored and the Americorps Watershed Ambassador Program, conducted a stream cleanup at Etra Lake Park.

Over 67 volunteers, young and adult, participated in the cleanup and collected over 365 pounds of trash and recyclables, the township said.

Mayor Janice Mironov thanked residents who participated in the community effort. Mironov said it was a "terrific way to celebrate Earth Day and preserve our natural resources. The purpose of this cleanup was to remove litter from our local watershed streams, helping to keep our water sources clean and provide for cleaner and more environmentally healthy streams.”
