Dave Portnoy Crowns New Top Tomato Pie Contender In NJ

WEST WINDSOR, NJ — Dave Portnoy's pizza tour made a Central Jersey pit stop this week, and this time it was Classico Tomato Pies putting its crust on the line.

The Barstool Sports founder pulled up for the latest installment of his "One Bite" series — and left with a solid verdict.

Portnoy said the tomato pie surprised him, noting it differed from the classic Trenton-style tomato pie he expected. "Very thin, very good," he said. "I do love me tomato pies."

He praised the pie's texture, calling it crunchy, thin and light, and awarded it an 8.1 out of 10.

Portnoy said he made the stop as part of a day of pizza reviews across Central Jersey.

Classico Tomato Pies is located in West Windsor. Portnoy's "One Bite" series, which he has run for several years, rates pizzerias across the country on a 10-point scale based on a single bite.
