4 Teens Seriously Injured In Mercer County Crash: Police

Two teens had to be taken to hospital via helicopters. They were traveling in a sedan when it collided with a pickup truck.

EAST WINDSOR, NJ — Five people including four teens were injured on Monday when a pickup truck collided with a sedan on Windsor-Perineville Road, according to East Windsor police. All four teens in the sedan, aged 14 to 17, suffered serious injuries, police said.

Helicopters from the New Jersey State Police and Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center landed at the Ethel McKnight Elementary School soccer field to transport two seriously injured victims to the hospital.

On arrival, police and EMS began administering first aid to the injured, police said. The driver of the pickup truck suffered minor injuries, while one passenger had to be extricated from the sedan and another unconscious passenger had to be removed by police and firefighters, police said.

The driver of the sedan was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center by Robert Wood Johnson EMS. A front-seat passenger and a rear-seat passenger were taken to RWJ New Brunswick by the Northstar Medical Helicopter.

According to police, the teens in the sedan were traveling west on Windsor- Perrineville Road, and the pickup truck was traveling east. The vehicles collided head-on near the intersection of Cedarville Road, police said.

The crash is currently being investigated by the East Windsor Township Police Department and the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office Serious Collision Response Team.
