71-Year-Old Woman Found Dead In Mercer After Suspected Home Break-In: Prosecutor
Elaine Murray of West Windsor was found dead with visible signs of injuries to the face, neck and head, Mercer County Prosecutor said.
MERCER COUNTY, NJ — A 71-year-old West Windsor woman was found dead in her bedroom on Wednesday evening with injuries to her face, neck and head, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo Onofri and West Windsor Police Chief Robert Garofalo said.
On Wednesday, just after 8 p.m., West Windsor police responded to a home on Galston Drive after neighbors went to conduct a well-being check on a female neighbor who lives alone and noticed evidence of a break-in.
Officers entered the home and found Elaine Murray, 71, lying dead on the floor of a second-floor bedroom. She appeared to have visible signs of injuries to the face, neck and head, Onofri said.

The death is under investigation by the Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the West Windsor Police Department.
No arrests have been made and the cause of Murray’s death is pending autopsy.
