Township acquires 30 acres for open space

East Windsor Township announced it acquired a 30-acre property for open space on Disbrow Hill Road across from Etra Lake Park and adjacent to the Rocky Brook along the border with Millstone Township. The property is contiguous to a 120-acre open space site previously acquired by the township off of Etra Road and on the same side of Disbrow Hill Road as another township 59 acre open space site, of which 20 acres are currently under development by the township for grant-funded new playing fields. The property was acquired for $460,000 using a combination of New Jersey Green Acres grants, Mercer County open space grants and developer contributions; no local property tax funds were used in the purchase.
