Arlen Forst Recognized As East Windsor Emergency Technician Of The Year

It is the third time Forst, who joined the Rescue Squad in 2000, has been honored with the award.

EAST WINDSOR TOWNSHIP, NJ — Arlen Forst has been honored as East Windsor’s Emergency Technician of the Year, the township announced Monday morning. It is the third time he earned the award. He also earned the title in 2003 and 2014.

He was recognized by East Windsor Mayo Janice S. Mironov and East Windsor Rescue Squad, District I Chief Robert Manlio, as part of as part of Emergency Medical Services Week, which is May 21-27.

Forst joined East Windsor Rescue Squad, District II in November of 2000. Since then, he has actively pursued skills and educational advancement, earning his Emergency Medical Technician certification and his Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Incident Command System certifications during his time of service.

Forst quickly proved his skills as an Emergency Medical Technician. He holds numerous positions of leadership and responsibility, including president, treasurer, and deputy chief.

Mironov noted Forst has “continued his volunteer services with East Windsor Rescue Squad, District I, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to ensure the ongoing efficient and effective operations of the Township Rescue Squad.

He rides overnight shifts, trains new members and works countless hours to help anyone in need.”
During Emergency Medical Services Week, all East Windsor Township rescue squad volunteers are recognized for “giving selflessly of themselves and providing emergency medical services in an exemplary manner.”

“The provision of emergency medical services is a vital public service resulting in lifesaving care to those in need 24 hours a day, seven days a week," Mironov said. "The volunteer members engage in thousands of hours of specialized training and continuing education to enhance their lifesaving skills and give selflessly of themselves by providing emergency medical services in an exemplary manner."
