Electric Shock Knocks Worker Off Ladder

The 63-year-old is listed in critical but stable condition, according to police.

A 63-year-old man was badly hurt Sunday when an electric shock knocked him off a ladder in East Windsor, police said. 

Melvin Cardonick, of Philadelphia, Pa., was taken to Capital Health Regional Hospital after a 30-foot plunge at 9:50 a.m., according to . Cardonick was on a ladder, working on a light fixture on the sign of the Windsor-Hights Shopping Center on Route 571, when the electrical current arced and knocked him over, a witness told police.

Cardonick sustained burn marks to his hands as well as blunt trauma to his torso and extremities and was listed in critical but stable condition, police said Monday.
