Free Tax Assistance Offered In East Windsor
Two sites in East Windsor are helping residents during this tax season.

EAST WINDSOR, NJ — Two locations in East Windsor will offer free income tax preparation assistance to help residents prepare and file their 2016 taxes, Mercer County Executive Brian M. Hughes said on Wednesday.
The deadline for filing 2016 tax returns for both state and federal taxes is April 18, 2017. Service runs Feb. 1 through mid-April. Call the site for required paperwork.
IRS Volunteer Tax Assistance programs are being run at the Hickory Corner and Twin Rivers branches of the Mercer County Library.

The VITA Program generally offers free tax help to people who make $50,000 or less and need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. IRS-certified volunteers provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals in local communities. The Hickory Corner Branch is located at 138 Hickory Corner Road in East Windsor. Services are being offered on the following dates and times:

- Saturday, Feb. 11, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.;
- Friday, March 3, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.;
- Saturday, March 18, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; and
- Saturday, April 1, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The Twin Rivers Branch is located at 276 Abbington Drive in East Windsor. Services are offered on the following dates and times:
- Friday, Feb. 17, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.;
- Friday, March 10, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; and
- Saturday, April 8, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
