Hightstown faces off against Moorestown Friends School and Irvington High School.

HIGHTSTOWN, NJ — Hightstown High School is one of three high schools that will compete in the finals of this year’s New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs High School Consumer Bowl on Tuesday, May 16. It will compete against Moorestown Friends School and Irvington High School at the Hughes Justice Complex in Trenton, beginning at 9:30 a.m. The Hughes Justice Complex is located at 25 Market Street in Trenton.

The Consumer Bowl competition features teams of students who have studied the state’s consumer protection laws and regulations under the guidance of a teacher who functions as the team adviser. The competition takes place in a game-show format, with teams buzzing in to answer questions posed by a moderator from the Division of Consumer Affairs.

Consumer Bowl topics include home improvement contractors, fraudulent charities, credit repair and reporting, charitable giving and consumer fraud, among others. Hightstown won the Mercer County and Central Regional competitions to advance to the state finals.
