Hightstown Football Falls to West Windsor-Plainsboro South 34-8 [Photos]

Friday's homecoming game left the Rams with a 0-3 season.

With its 34-8 loss to West Windsor South-Plainsboro at home on Friday night, the Hightstown High football team fell to 0-3 on the season.

According to Hightstown Coach Pete Brescia, his team will do everything it can to try and change the path its on during practice this week.

"We're going to improve our practice ethic," Brescia said. "We just have to come to practice and get better every single day. We can't take anything for granted."

While losing its first two games, Hightstown did a lot of positive things. Brescia couldn't give enough praise to his team after losing 28-22 to Hamilton who had a considerable size advantage.

Hightstown also had a lot of positive moments in a 21-12 setback to Nottingham.

"We played well the first two weeks," Brescia said. "Last night we didn't play as well."

One of the major reasons for Hightstown's problems was West Windsor South's Brian Schoenauer, who rushed four touchdowns and over 200 yards.

Hightstown's lone score came on a short pass from Dustin Kollman to Cameron Harper in the fourth quarter. That pair also combined for the two-point conversion.

"We were playing a very good team," Brescia said. "My kids played hard. Playing hard doesn't always translate into playing well. We made some mistakes."

Hightstown will do everything it can to fix those mistakes this week. The goal is to be a better football team by the 1 p.m. kickoff next Saturday at Steinert.
