JJ Fitz Band to Perform at Holy Grounds Coffee House in Cranbury

Cranbury, NJ (April 2026) — Jersey’s own JJ Fitz Band, a contemporary acoustic rock group led by father-and-son duo John “Fitz” Fitzpatrick and Jacob Fitzpatrick, will bring an evening of original music, personal storytelling, and messages of redemption to Holy Grounds Coffee House on Friday, May 1, 2026. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the performance beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Cranbury United Methodist Church, 21 North Main Street, Cranbury, NJ 08512.

JJ Fitz Music is the ministry of John and Jacob Fitzpatrick, a Southern New Jersey–based father-and-son team dedicated to sharing the Gospel and offering hope to those facing trauma, addiction, and life’s deepest struggles. The band crafts authentic, heartfelt original songs that resonate with the soul—songs born directly from real-life pain, healing, and transformation.

The Life Story Behind the Music

John Fitzpatrick’s musical journey began in the midst of profound personal brokenness. For most of his life, John battled severe addiction. He cycled through multiple rehabilitation programs but could never achieve lasting sobriety. By the time he entered the Colony of Mercy—a faith-based rehabilitation program at America’s Keswick in Whiting, NJ—he had lost nearly everything and was, in his own words, “sick and tired.”

It was there that John encountered the real Gospel and trauma counseling for the first time. “I had never even heard of trauma counseling, nor understood what the real Gospel meant and how it impacted every single area of my life,” John shares. “But truthfully, at that point I was willing to try anything. I had lost almost everything and was frankly just sick and tired. Little did I know that facing much of my past pain and allowing God to meet me in the midst of it, was going to be the very thing that would dramatically heal my heart and change my life.”

During his transformative recovery, John picked up his guitar again after many years and began writing songs to process the flood of emotions he was experiencing. The result? More than an album’s worth of deeply personal, original music. In early 2020, amid the challenges of the pandemic, John and his son Jacob officially formed the band JJ Fitz as a vehicle to share their story of hope through music and testimony.

Today, the full JJ Fitz lineup includes John Fitzpatrick (lead vocals, acoustic guitar, and primary songwriter), Jacob Fitzpatrick (backup vocals and electric guitar), along with Dennis Valencia, Peter Powers, and Kris Castillo. Their music invites listeners into the full range of life’s struggles and joys, always pointing toward the healing power of faith.

The band’s mission is clear: to bring hope and healing to the wounded and addicted by being transparent about their own journeys. Through original songs and raw, honest storytelling, JJ Fitz turns personal pain into powerful ministry.
