Lighting The Way: East Windsor Participates In Communities Of Light
The event helps raise funds for Womanspace, a Mercer County non-profit that provides various of services to survivors of domestic violence.

EAST WINDSOR, NJ — Officials, police officers and residents recently participated in the 2022 Womanspace “Communities of Light” event at the East Windsor Municipal Building.
“Communities of Light” raises funds for Womanspace and focuses public awareness on domestic violence and services available to survivors.
Mayor Janice Mironov issued a Proclamation to kick off the event, where attendees lit candles around the entire perimeter and walkways of the Municipal Building.

The event was sponsored by Womanspace, a non-profit organization in Mercer County that provides various of services, crisis intervention and support for survivors of domestic violence and their families.
“‘Communities of Light’ is intended to serve as a beacon of hope for individuals and families who are impacted by the dreadful situation of domestic violence,” Mironov said. “Our participation is to demonstrate our support of victims and their families, as well as recognition that domestic violence knows no boundaries and impacts every community regardless of race, religion or socio-economic background.”

Mironov also recognized the Township’s Domestic Violence Victim Response Team that provides assistance they provide to survivors. “We hope that our participation will help focus public attention on the important subject of domestic violence and to encourage residents to become more aware of support efforts and resources available to victims and families,” Mironov said.
The event helps raise funds for Womanspace, whose mission is to provide an array of services to those impacted by domestic violence and is dedicated to improving the quality of life for women and their families.
