Mercer County Man Who Admits Killing Cellmate Sentenced: Report
Lamar Gaines has been sentenced in the death of Darryl Boone and other charges, according to The Trentonian.

A Mercer County man who admitted to brutally killing his prison cellmate four years ago has been sentenced.
Lamar Gaines, 22, of Trenton, has been sentenced to 25 years for killing his cellmate at the Mercer County Corrections Facility in 2013, The Trentonian reports. He must serve 85 percent of his term before becoming eligible for parole. He has also been sentenced to 10 years in prison for a carjacking, and five years for an aggravated assault, all to be served concurrently.
He previously admitted that he killed 38-year-old Darryl Boone while he slept, according to nj.com. Gaines reportedly said he used bedsheets and a cup of toilet water to strangle and suffocate Boone.

The carjacking took place along with a robbery back in 2012, according to nj.com. In 2013, he was accused of drunk driving in a car crash in which one of his passengers was killed.
