Mercer County Sheriff's Office Hosts Drug Take-Back Day Oct. 28

National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible method for disposing of expired medications.

The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office will collect unneeded and expired prescription drugs during the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, Oct. 28, in the parking lot across from the Mercer County Administration Building at 640 South Broad Street in Trenton.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hypodermic needles or liquid solutions will not be accepted. Several municipal police departments throughout the county are expected to hold similar disposal events on the same day.

“The goal is to help local residents to rid their medicine cabinets of unused and easily abused opioid painkillers, in addition to any other unneeded prescription pills,” Mercer County Sheriff Jack Kemler said.
