Ocean Grove Auditorium Choir to Perform Handel’s Messiah on August 24th
On Sunday August 24, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association will present this year’s Annual Sacred Masterwork: Handel’s Messiah.
Jason Tramm will conduct The Great Auditorium Choir and Orchestra with organist Gordon Turk at the console of Great Auditorium Pipe Organ. Featured soloists are Metropolitan Opera tenor, Ronald Naldi, soprano, Monica Zeigler, mezzo-soprano, Martha Bartz and bass-baritone Justin Beck.
In 1741, George Frederic Handel accepted a commission for a benefit concert in Dublin, Ireland. In just 23 days he completed what would go on to become the most famous oratorio ever written. This brilliant masterpiece has thrilled and inspired listeners from its April 13, 1742 debut to the present day.
