• ICE Detains Man Facing Charges In Fatal East Windsor Hit-&-Run (patch.com) — East Windsor residents are learning more about the man accused in a deadly Route 33 hit-and-run that killed a local pedestrian and critically injured another. Federal immigration officials say East Windsor resident Herman Johel Santos-Morales, a Honduran national, was taken into ICE custody after local police charged him in the August crash and he now faces possible removal from the country.
   

• Devices Down: East Windsor Regional School District Officially Adopts 'Bell-to-Bell' Student Cellphone Ban (tapinto.net) — East Windsor families should know that the regional school board has approved a strict bell-to-bell ban on student cellphones and personal devices for the 2026–27 school year, in line with new state law. The policy covers phones, smartwatches, earbuds, and more throughout the day, with exceptions for IEPs, health needs, translation, and emergencies, and will be enforced at Hightstown High and other district schools.
   

• Tire flies off car, smashes into another vehicle and injures driver (news12.com) — A 19-year-old from East Windsor was uninjured after a rear tire flew off their car on Route 1 in South Brunswick, bounced over the divider, and smashed into another vehicle's windshield. The 59-year-old Teaneck driver in the struck car was seriously hurt and had to be extricated, briefly shutting and then narrowing the highway during Sunday evening travel.
