Police Investigate Murder in East Windsor

Police are searching for a missing endangered family member in connection with the murder of her mother-in-law.

East Windsor, NJ -- Police are searching for a missing endangered woman who may have information concerning the apparent murder of her mother-in-law in East Windsor Tuesday night, the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office announced on Wednesday.

East Windsor police discovered the body of 73-year-old Safia Diwan at a residence on Mozart Court just after 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday after receiving a 911 call.

She was found lying deceased in a front office. Preliminary assessment of injury suggests she was bludgeoned. An autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday.

There was no forced entry to the home, and police are searching for Tasneem Diwan, age 45, of East Windsor. She is believed to be driving a green 2000 Nissan Quest minivan with New Jersey registration JYY16P.

Her picture is attached to this post. Anyone who sees Diwan is asked to contact police and should not attempt to approach her.
