Police Seeking Taxi Fare Skippers, Plus Shoplifting and Other Charges

are seeking two men who reportedly took a taxi from the Trenton Train Station to Michael’s Plaza on Mercer Street May 14 and then ran away without paying the fare. Police said the incident occurred at 3:13 p.m., and the two men were reportedly wearing black T-shirts and black pants. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 609-448-1234. 

Meanwhile,  reported two incidents of alleged shoplifting last week. In unrelated incidents, Joseph Neubauer, 19, of Monmouth Junction, and James Garzillo, 26, of Hamilton, were both charged May 12 with shoplifting.

East Windsor Police said they first responded to Target at 12:47 p.m. after employees there reported having a shoplifter in custody. The Target employees told police Garzillo tried to conceal a $106.99 headphone set and then leave the store.

East Windsor Police said that later that evening, at 5:17 p.m., they responded to Walmart after store personnel there reported a shoplifter in custody. The Walmart employees told police Neubauer took a computer hard drive, a USB cord and batteries, valued at a total of $133.55, and removed their packaging before hiding the items in his pocket.

In another Hightstown incident, police there said they charged Edvin Barrera, 35, of Trenton, with failure to inspect and contempt of court. Police said they stopped him at 7:14 p.m. after a random license plate check revealed he had a $2,500 Trenton Municipal Court warrant. Once stopped, police said they saw Barrera’s vehicle’s inspection sticker was expired.
