Prescription Drug Dropbox Installed In East Windsor
The box is part of an effort to fight opiate and heroin abuse.

East Windsor, NJ -- A Project Medicine Drop box has been installed in East Windsor in an effort to make it easier for residents to take an active role in the fight against the nationwide epidemic of opiate and heroin abuse, the township announced this week.
The drop box, which was installed as part of the New Jersey Attorney General’s “Project Medicine Drop” initiative, is in the police/court building at 80 One Mile Road.
It is open to residents to dispose of their unused or excess medications all hours of the day, all year long, anonymously and with no questions asked.

If after regular business hours, residents can use the blue call box to have an officer respond to assist with their drop off.
Through this initiative, the State Division of Consumer Affairs installs secure “prescription drug drop boxes” at police departments, sheriff’s offices, and State Police barracks across New Jersey, allowing citizens to safely dispose of their unused, excess or expired prescription medications.
