Storytelling and Origami Come Together on April 9 in Mercer County

"Story-gami" will take place at the Tulpehaking Nature Center.

Storytelling and origami will come together for “Story-gami” at the Tulpehaking Nature Center on Saturday, April 9, 10:30 a.m. to noon.

The program’s storyteller will share Native American tales filled with rabbits, bears and other wildlife while folding origami characters that develop with each turn of the story. All participants will learn how to fold their own origami character to take home, and some might even practice spinning their own tale.

Storytelling was an important way of communicating lessons about life and history for the Lenape who inhabited this region. Following in this Native American tradition, the storyteller will lead families on an adventure where learning comes naturally.
