Tulpehaking Nature Center To Celebrate Valentine's For Nature In Mercer County

The celebration is Saturday, Feb. 11, 1 p.m.-4 p.m.

The Tulpehaking Nature Center will celebrate families and wildlife at its Valentines for Nature Open House on Saturday, Feb. 11, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Parents and kids can get a head start on their valentine-making, and enjoy refreshments, activities and story time. Everyone in the family is invited, including favorite stuffed animals.

Participants can create a nature-themed valentine for that special someone and make an edible “valentine for nature” to hang on a tree outside the nature center.

Inside, hot chocolate will be served and the hard work will pay off when secret animal admirers make their way to nibble on the homemade Valentines. Admission is $5 per child and free for adult chaperones.

Story time will be held at 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Valentines for Nature Open House will include valentine-making crafts, a snack, story time and activities. Additional refreshments will be available for purchase.

The Tulpehaking Nature Center is located at 157 Westcott Avenue in Hamilton. Winter hours for the nature center are Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.

Off-street parking is available in front of the Watson House with easy access to the nature center's main entrance on the side of the building opposite the gazebo.

The Tulpehaking Nature Center provides programs and exhibits that encourage visitors to explore and discover the many cultural, historic and natural resources of the Abbott Marshlands.

It is owned by the County of Mercer and operated by the Mercer County Park Commission.
