4 Candidates To Pursue 3 Seats On Metuchen School Board
Two incumbents are running for re-election to the Metuchen School District Board of Education.

METUCHEN, NJ — Four candidates are running for three open seats on the Metuchen School District Board of Education, according to the Middlesex County Clerk's office.
There are nine seats on the Metuchen school board.
Here are the candidates:

- Chris Derflinger
- Deborah M Spigner
- Cristina Orozco
Incumbents Chris Derflinger and Michele C. Cook are seeking reelection. Derflinger is the current vice president of the BOE. Justin Manley's term is set to expire in 2021, but the board member is not seeking reelection.
Cook, Derflinger, and Spigner are running as a slate under the slogan "Advocating For All". Orozco's slogan is "Educator Transparent Colaborator."

While BOE elections in New Jersey are bi-partisan, the lines are being blurred in Morris County this year, with the GOP backing a few candidates.
