Celebrate National Night Out In Edison Tuesday

Edison Police looks forward to building a stronger relationship with the community at Tuesday's National Night Out.

EDISON, NJ — Millions of people across the country will come together Tuesday to enhance the relationship between law enforcement and communities.

Edison Police will be hosting National Night Out on Aug. 2 at Lake Papaianni from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

  • Free food and non-alcoholic beverages
  • McGruff the Crime Dog
  • Paw Patrol Characters
  • Dunk Tank
  • Trackless Train
  • Jugglers
  • New Jersey State Police Helicopter flyover
  • Mock Car Crash with extrication
  • Various Government and Civic Organizations
  • Free outdoor movie, Paw Patrol (bring blankets or low-back chairs)

National Night Out is a community-building event that helps create a dialogue with different members of the local community.

In the past years, attendance has been high in Edison, the police department said.

The aim of the National Night Out is to enhance the relationship between law enforcement and the community they serve. Started in 1984, the effort promotes crime prevention activities, community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.
