The garden is the first in a series of Swales Park renovations announced by Mayor Sam Joshi earlier this year. Joshi plans to expand the community garden program in the coming years, establishing more gardens throughout the township.
“It’s my aim to create public spaces and programming where residents can connect with themselves and the earth," Joshi said in a statement. "In a world that may feel disconnected and distracted, it's the spaces like these – the community gardens, the pickleball courts, the public parks – where we can build unity, compassion, and understanding.”
