Edison Council Meeting To Discuss 'Racial Flyer' From 2017
Edison's Committee of the Whole has been working closely with the United States Postal Inspector to investigate the racial flyer.
EDISON, NJ - The Edison Municipal Council will meet Thursday at 7 p.m. as the "Committee Of The Whole" to discuss the racial flyer incident from 2017.
Less than a week before the November 2017 election, a flyer arrived in mailboxes across Edison. It featured photos of current school board president Jerry Shi and board member Falguni Patel, with the words “deport” and “Make Edison Great Again!” stamped on it.
The flyer said that "The Chinese and Indians are taking over our town!"

Shi is Chinese-American, while Patel is Indian-American. According to the 2010 census, around 43 percent of the town’s population is Asian.
