Edison Hosting National Night Out Next Week

Watch a movie, meet police officers, McGruff the Crime Dog, and more!

From Edison PD: Edison will host its annual National Night Out event at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 7 outside the Municipal Complex and at nearby Papaianni Park, both on Municipal Boulevard off of Route 27.

The main event for Edison’s National Night Out is an outdoor movie – the 2017 animated fantasy “Coco” – which starts at 8:30 p.m. in Papaianni Park. Visitors are encouraged to bring blankets or low-back chairs. The event also features a visit by “McGruff the Crime Dog” and his “Paw Patrol,” free food, a video game trailer, police and fire equipment demonstrations, entertainment and information booths sponsored by the Recreation and Health Departments, the town’s Clean Communities Program, various businesses and civic groups.

“Our National Night Out event is a terrific way for people and families to have fun, meet some of our police officers, firefighters and town employees, and learn about services that Edison offers,” said Mayor Thomas Lankey. For more information about National Night Out, contact the Edison Police Community Resource
Unit at (732) 248-6442 or email Officer Keith Jackson kjackson@edisonpd.org.
